To deny yourself is so difficult, and in our western culture of “you be you” it’s pretty easy to find people that will help us rationalize almost any decision that makes us feel good. I love this story and faith journey. As God continues to reveal over and over the things I need to deny about myself (because some aren’t as “taboo” as others in our society) this encourages me as I see a brother that is just following Jesus because it’s that simple (but not easy). Thanks for sharing.

He told me to “Love her like Jesus does!” So I asked Him to teach me as we go. She and I have a great relationship and I do pray for her. I’m not entirely surprised she went this direction, after suffering under a severe narcissistic, controlling, covertly abusive father! I know God is with her and trust He will bring her through the darkness of her pain and back into the light….that He is continually working in her heart.
